wow .. what a game .. cerrone hit it right on the spot about this team finally looking like getting some life back in them ... i also miss seeing this team win and have fun doin it ...

my only problem is .. i wonder what the hell are they gona do when alou comes back ... i really dont think its right if they sit angel when he has been the biggest offensive contributer this season.. and if pedro comes back and avoids getting injured and wins at least 13 games this team will be in realllllllllly good shape and will have a really good chance in the playoffs

YES!! It was like 2006 all over again and thats what we want to see. The players running on the field all smiles and high-fives tackiling each other and showing the kind of cheer that we as fans feel after every game and BTO in the background was a flashback to 2006!! I LOVE IT !! keep it up a and LETS GO METS !!!!!!!

If Heilman can't get out Howard, he has no business in the 8th inning. Phillies fans are so quiet...

If another team wants him as a starter, then fine. I just dont understand this constant rumbling that all around the league people see him as a valuable starter. If that were true, the Mets would be getting offers for him constantly and you'd think they'd jump on one.

I just dont see it. I'm not a pro scout, but I know baseball well. I know you need more than an average fastball and an above average change to become a starter. Heilman has no breaking ball. None.

But I'll agree, if teams want him as a starter, see value in him. Stretch him out, get his innings up (in AAA) then ship him out for some valuable relievers.

He has thrown a nasty slider in the past. If he threw it more, maybe he'd be able to be considered for a starter's slot somewhere.

Whaddya mean, "bareeellyyyyy safe?" He was safe by almost two inches! ;)

Plus, and this can't be discounted, he beat the throw to the plate. That right there sets up the "safe" call in the umpire's mind.

Where's C Dubb now? The guy responds to my comment yesterday about just how unimpressive Heilman is by quoting his ERA and WHIP from last season. Stats don't tell the whole story. Heilman blows leads. He gives up bombs with that pathetic changeup.

He needs some serious help, and the guy is flat out nuts if he thinks he's got starter stuff.

Must be distracting to the pitchers too.

In fact, Ruiz really, really didn't help Kendrick out Wednesday either. He set up so, so, soooooo late even after Kendrick was walking everyone and behind in the count. If the guy can't throw a strike, at least give him something to aim for. Watching the Phils' catching really makes me glad we have Schneider :)

Feliciano like show is more of a situational guy. Heilman will be fine we are only 10 games in.

Besides we won the game, every bullpen pitcher is going to go through a rough patch at some point during the season. If we can continue to win games Heilman is shaky in, then we will be in great shape when he gets his act together.
