I can't believe no one has said this yet...if he was sore Friday morning, why the hell was he in the lineup on a cold and damp Friday night?

I was happy he didn't try to bowl the catcher over on that play because of the chance of injury. Of course, he winds up getting hurt anyway. Sometimes you just can't win.

A voice of reason. Who'd have thunk.

I said this more times than I can count about Beltran last year when his legs first started acting up. He took less time off than I'd have liked. A month or so later he was on the DL. He was pretty good other than that for most of the year, but 15 days in August as opposed to three more in June or July could have made a difference last year. In 2006 when Beltran's legs started acting up, he took four or five days off, and look at the season he had.

I know you don't like to have a 24 man roster ever if possible, but with guys like Beltran and Reyes, its worth it to take that hit for a short time to make sure they have their legs under them. Both of these guys use their legs so much and it makes such a difference in their abilities.

Yes, as I recall he uncharacteristically slid in feet first, hit his foot into the catcher's shin guard, then bent over and reached for the plate, which would surely stretch your hammy out for you.

Back Tuesday? I would be shocked if he didn't end up on the DL with this.

Of course, he will PH TUesday and reagrevate it, so that the DL clock resets!

True, when I saw that slide my first thought was, please don't be hurt. It probably had a lot to do with that.

He did have a sort-of rough slide into home the night before. Maybe he just slid too awkwardly and did something then?

Kinda what I was expecting. My question is, how do you wake up with a tight hamstring? Does he sleep-run?
