That's what its come to...sadly, and if it continues you will see the popularity of this site go down the tubes. People aren't on here for a onesided lovefest. They are on here to debate.

If you contradict Cerrone's opinion, or point out bad things about the Mets...then your post gets rejected. It's like a Metsblog cleansing of anyone who doesn't side with the "Yay Mets" attitude. Life doesn't work like that. When the team is playing bad, fans should be able to vent that here. But I'm sure this will get rejected also.

I read the post about the Angel Pagan wave too. And I disagreed with his view....saying its completely cheesy (and every Mets fan in my office also thought that it was beyond childish, and stupid. But I guess since we didn't think it was cool....those posts got rejected too.

It's amazing that all the comments here support Matt, no real contradiction allowed.... good if you agree, bad if you want to actually debate.

Fantastic post! That just about sums it up. It's not something that anyone wants to hear but it's closer to the truth than a lot of people think.

It is sad to see so many of my old friends on here disappear. I still see a few but they don't post anywhere near as much as they used to. I have been here since the begining and will prob. be here until the end. I am just affraid the way things are going that the end will come quicker than I thought. I guess I have even posted more than normal, I feel like I am defending the hopes of the Mets and the views of the normal fan. I am stubborn sometimes and end up taking offense to what I think are people ruining the best blog I have ever been a part of. I am not even one to blog, my wife can't believe that I blog. However, I will continue to support Matt and all his efforts to keep this site going.

Now, if you could only clean up the level of discourse at Shea. I don't understand how fans -- i.e., people that are supposed to root and support a team -- can so consistently demean and disrespect that team.

People have the right to say what they wish at Shea -- even stupid things -- but people also can and should be judged by what they say and how they act.

As for this site, I absolutely support your decision to approve comments. This is not Shea; it is not a public forum.

Keep up the great work Matt.

I can understand your frustration. After all, this "horrible" team finished like 10 games out of first last year...oh wait....

Last year ended in September. This is a new season. Give the team a month. Then you can bash them all you want.

After all, I seem to remember fans booing Beltran on Opening Day of '06. And Wright the first month of '07. Jumping to conclusion, while possibly fans' strong point, are comical.

I think that there are many posters on this site that are just trying to make us real fans look foolish. Hopefully Matt will be able to filter out some of the trolls.

I support free speech as much as anyone (I work in radio), but I also know that sometimes the idiots have to be babysat.
