Note: The Angel Wave
By Matthew Cerrone - Apr 14, 2008 9:37 am

…nice job by the small group of fans at Shea Stadium the last few days, who have been doing the angel wave, like was featured in the movie Angels in the Outfield, i.e., flapping their hands off their shoulders, as though they are wings, in honor of Angel Pagan

…several fans e-mailed me this weekend, all of whom were in favor of this, wishing it will catch on over time…

My friend had mentioned that we should do it earlier in the game, and then we saw people in the right field loge seats doing it, and we joined it. Absolutely love it.

On a side note, there have been far too many idiots sitting in Shea Stadium claiming to be Mets fans, booing players like Santana, and going way over the line in taunting fans from other teams. If we’re going to get drunk and scream at Brewers fans, I think we’ve got bigger problems than the Mets season…

i think the brewers fans are my favorite NL team fans (ourselves included, at this point). isn’t it absolutely amazing how many brewers fans come out to shea? i think there were as many brewers fans saturday as i saw phillies fans during the week.

I personally love the angel wave! Yesterday was my first game for the ‘08 season, and I was sitting in the Upper Deck down the left field line. When Angel came up, I saw a ton of people doing the angel wave in the right field loge seats and outer field boxes. A couple fans here and there throughout the rest of the stadium joined in as well. I was so excited when I saw it! I really hope it catches on where we have 55.000 fans flapping their angel wings lol. Nice positive unifying trend that the fans can take part in.
