Read: David Wright, Hugging Babies

In a report for SNY.tv, Ted Berg writes about David Wright the hitter, the leader and the politician, stating:

“It’s easy to overlook Wright, because he’s not under-appreciated or misused or wrongly vilified, like the players I often dedicate this space to. Wright is a constant, and a nearly perfect one. He gets on base, he hits home runs, he smiles for the camera, he steals bases, he says the right thing, he wins Gold Gloves, he works out relentlessly, and he takes time out of his busy schedule to hug babies. And he’s still only 25 years old.”

…there is a small part of me that feels like this team will soon be at a crossroads, one in which wright is a great player surrounded by guys who do not work as hard as him and they fail, or one that is built in his shadow, and which he leads by example and wins…

…i’m not saying this is inevitable, but i often see this coming and it may not be a bad thing

By the way, Wright will be a guest tonight on the Late Show with David Letterman, during which he will also take batting practice from Letterman on 53rd Street.
