Inspirational, except it is completely false. It isn’t a “what have you done for me lately?” city? Met fans aren’t those types of fans? It’s completely pathetic right now with the booing. It makes me not want to be a fan. It’s just awful how pathetic the people are who boo after a bad inning because they think it validates them, or because the team “owes” them. They’re playing baseball, and they’ll play it better without the booing. I know, I know, booing is cool. It makes you feel like you’re apart of it (you as in anyone). But it is so weak, and any justification of it is laughable.

I was wondering the same thing. As great as that story was to hear, I’m surprised he didn’t take a more diplomatic approach and talk about the rivlary on the field or leave it saying the fans of both teams don’t like each other.

Note to Letterman, if you ever invite Jimmy Rollins (presumably withe the chance to bean him), bend the NYC rules and use real baseballs.

How can you say it’s not what have you done for me lately, when Johan get booed at Shea when he had two great starts before? Mets fans love the team when they’re doing good and hate them when they’re not. There’s nothing wrong with what D-Wright said.
