13-0 win in florida helped that stat. Although, it's not like we're playing like the tigers. Yes....they will be ok.

This article seemed very premature. Although it may seem like an eternity away, I'm going to try to be patient. Maybe if they're playing like overpaid underachievers by mid may, I will worry. I feel into the sky is falling trap on sunday. I think I will take it easy now. Count to ten and breathe....lol.

Not to rain on your parade, but over 20% of those Met runs came from the 13-0 blowout against the Marlins. If you discount that game as an outlier, that stat drops to 45-47.

Lies, damn lies and statistics.

Matt. i dont know what you think about this, but this team is not nearly as likeable as the team of the late 90's. piazza, ventura, fonzie, olerud etc. THAT was a team, this is a team that is hard to connect to on a personal level. Between what delgado said after sundays game, and everything from last season, this is just a group of guys. There is nothing there, few of these guys are home grown. So you shouldnt be ripping on wallace matthews b/c he has a great point, they mets can throw all the money around they want to stay with the yankees, but the team chemistry and winning attitude is not there and they will not sniff a world series ring until it is.

Making money is not directly connected to winning. Plenty of teams make money that haven't won anything, or very little, in years. The Mets are exhibit one.

Wallace Matthews is a joke.

The Mets are doing fine. They've outscored their opponents 58-47 thus far. The wins will come.

You could combine the Mets and Yankees payrolls and still not be able to buy Wallace Matthews a life.

I think all this Mets bitterness stems from Mr. Met not showing up to his birthday party when he was 8 years old.

Money can't buy happiness? Do you live in America? Because it buys a waverunner.

Try frowning on a waverunner.

Really this is a crappy column. I mean I'm all for winning with youth and home grown talent but to say the Mets and Yanks are done for the season and don't look like they will make the playoffs, is just dumb.

On another note, it would be nice to see the team get a big younger next year, with older players leaving and the Mets having some prospects in the minors to fill the spots.

But, it's 2008 now, LET'S GO METS!
