to be honest.. when i saw this i thought it was way way too focused on union relations and absolutely NO hard facts regarding the new stadium.. and way way too much fluffly joking around from a character no one really cares about..

I hope things get a little more serious in these pieces and they get some real updates done rather than “build it union” promos..

    Fans arent looking for shtick.

The Mets should hire that Union Construction Guy to do pregame speeches. I bet he could motivate this team !

Maybe we should bury a Leprachaun in the stadium for luck

Burying things in new stadiums is nothing new. The most legendary is Chief Knockahoma’s tomahawk that is buried to the left side of the pitcher’s mound at Turner field. The disgruntled chief, who was fired as the Braves left Fulton County stadium, buried his hatchet with a curse on left handed Braves pitchers as revenge. To this day, no Braves lefty has been able to survive without a trip to the disabled list.

Did they check to make sure no materials from Philly or Atlanta were used in the construction of Citi Field?

actually the curse worked in reverse. Big Papi didn’t hit a lick for the time his jersey was cemented into skankee stadium. once it was gone he started hitting.

maybe we should put a chipper jones shirt under citifield for the same effect.

Add a Rollins jersey as well. I wouldn’t mind burying the Phils and Braves at Citi Field.
