I’ve been thinking the same thing for 2 years now. They seem almost psychologically dependant on him…can be alarming in a short playoff series, if they get there.

Shut the door on the Nats by sweeping the series not by taking two of three against a team playing as poorly as the Nats. Go into Philly feeling good coming off a win and not a loss. Great teams sweep other teams every once in a while so it would be nice to get a sweep in this situation. Two out of three is not acceptable in this particular series.

looks like Beltran really is turning into the Rollins of this team. Not as loudmouth and outspoken, but he’s stepping into that leadership role. Good to see.

these guys taking shots at us has me wondering: when was the last time that we had a guy who really wanted out of New York after a stint with the Mets? The only guy I could think of was Mike Hampton. It feels to me like players love playing for the Mets and that’s why they get so pissy if the Mets don’t want them anymore.

To be fair he said when they play 3 or 4 in a row. At worst that’s 22 games if you count the built in off days. That’s 140 games and I would be glad to get that much out of him if he is as productive as he usually is.

agree with you about the Nats, although I wasn’t so fond of them in September, when they played us like it was Game 7 for 2 straight weeks, then rolled over for the Phillies.
