Health: Beltran’s Stiff Neck
Carlos Beltran did not start in last night’s game due to a stiff neck, however he struck out as a pinch hitter later in the night.
Beltran told reporters that, although he has been struggling with the stiff neck since Wednesday, he expects to play tonight.
…from what i understand, it’s the exact same knot under the shoulder blade, which rides up in to the side of the neck, that we all get from sitting hunched over at our computers all day…

In the Daily News, Adam Rubin recalls how Willie Randolph was disappointed with Beltran last year in Arizona, when he begged out of the final game in a series the team could have swept.
However, Beltran told reporters yesterday that Randolph had planned to give him a day off soon anyway, and did not express disappointment in yesterday’s absence.
