Thank you Joel Hammerhands…you are my new favorite National. Every team needs a little karm now and then…as many bad calls, bad hops, and LOBs as we’ve had of late, it is nice to see the kwan swing our way again (as it did when we played the phils).

Can’t say enough about Figgy and the bullpen last night.

Also, although Supernova can’t hit a curveball to save his life (not that he hit fastballs well either), he called a good game.

Now, recenter dear lads for a big matchup weekend, and if you fellas have to hit the ball at someone, may it be Eric Bruntlett.

totally agree with you. The Feliciano/Show thing didn’t hurt them, but it could have, but other than that, Willie was great. He outmanaged “Acta the Savior” this whole series. Of course, you don’t see many people on here talking about that. But just wait until one of our relievers so much as gives up a run against the Phillies…the “fire willies” will be back out in force.

that was an awesome play. It’s been a small-sample size, but so far I feel like Figgy’s a darn good fielder. Having guys like him & Johan can only help the rest of the defense out.

if you really think about it, all 3 of the Mets runs came on breaks. Church’s double could have been caught (it bounced out of the guy’s mitt), then Church got on because of a 2 out error in the 8th, and then Easley advanced to second, third, AND scored on bad pitches/throws. Last night was a LUCKY win. And guess what, I couldn’t be happier? Last year they had no luck whatsoever. The best teams do get lucky from time to time. Now they just need to go into Philadelphia and sweep the hell out of them.

They showed them doing the 21st inning stretch on Sportscenter.

Oh and Figgy’s behind the back catch was #3 on the top 10 plays of the day – should have been #1.

What I thought was great about this game was Willie’s management.

Made (almost) all the right moves at just the right times, and certainly out-managed Manny Acta (who didn’t bring out the lefty for Delgado the AB he tied the game, and called the hit&run that the Mets predicted for the Kearns pickoff).

The only thing I’d have done different would’ve been to bring in Show instead of Feliciano to face Johnson. I’d rather have Feliciano that Show pitching against righties if we run out of bullpen – which would have happened if we didn’t score in the 14th.
