…well, i’m leaving for Philadelphia, to see the Mets take on the Phillies in Citizen’s Bank Park…i anticipate spending time with close to 200 Mets fans in Lot N for a few hours before the game…it should be interesting

…Ted Berg and i will be filming the experience, and should have the video up online at some point this week…

…by the way, if the Philly Phanatic shows up, i cannot guarantee his safety…or ours, for that matters…wish us luck

I was at the game last night, and to say the Philly fans were belligerent to me would be a vast understatement. My friend and I were actually followed around the park as we entered by a group of “Phans” calling us “***holes”. They even continued after the game, saying how awful the Mets are, even though Santana just schooled Hamels!

I look forward to more of it today – I’ll gladly trade heckling for Mets victories. :)

Also, see you at the tailgate!

I’m about to leave for Philly as well. It’s funny to remember like five years ago when I went down to Philly for a Mets-Phils game and no one said a word to me down there. This rivalry is a great thing with the teams so close.

Let’s Go Mets!

Sure, we all knew Phillie Phans were idiots.

But after the way they cheered a guy who face down on the field after getting nailed in the head, well, brotherly love must be a thing of the past. That was the most classless thing that I’ve seen in awhile. And it does not compare to Lastings getting hit by a pitch. He wasn’t hit in the head, laying in a heap on the ground, getting booed when he got up.

Phillies phans, you truly suck.

I’ll be at the game, I’ll try to convince my Philly fan college roomate to park in Lot N, or at least let me stop by over there for a little bit.

Hey guys FYI. Was at the game last night and cars with NY plates where getting there tires slashed, and yes the Philly fans are going out of there way to start a fight. Most of them are actually pretty good, its that 10% or so thats just a disgrace to all society.

Go Mets

PhillyMet April 19, 2008 at 9:56 am

Wow, I was there too but didn’t see all that. Last year, they trashed an SNY TV van though (broken mirrors, dumped buckets of trash and urine on it, riduculous).

Its a very small number of total a-holes, but for the most part, the place was really rocking last night (until Johan took out his carving knife!).

QnsNative718 April 19, 2008 at 10:49 am

Yea I have a Mets frame for my license plate that I plan on taking off, but I see thats not even goin to matter… ugh… Pri@ks…

PhillyMet April 19, 2008 at 10:03 am

So much for HRs…check out this stat. So far this year, the Phils and Mets each have scored 78 runs, even though the Phils have hit 26 HRs to the Mets 9!

ChiliGTC April 19, 2008 at 10:21 am

kick that Philly Phanatic’s butt!

“…by the way, if the Philly Phanatic shows up, i cannot guarantee his safety…or ours, for that matters…wish us luck…”

Take Mr. Met for back-up!

Good luck, folks! Have fun! Wish I could be there.

Hey Matt, bring a bag full of W’s… i heard thats like kryptonite to the Phills

terpz06 April 19, 2008 at 11:14 am

have fun, its a beautiful day for baseball

i saw you and some other bloggers on mets weekly last night. you were halfway decent, matt, but tell the others to settle down and loosen up. it’s a conversation…why are they so stiff? the moderator (ted?) was basically reading off a piece of paper. my college tv news show wasn’t that awkward

nyjfanjmk April 19, 2008 at 11:35 am

Last night was my 3rd game ever at CBP and it was by far the worst experience I’ve had there. I love this rivalry more than anyone, but when some idiot in a Phillies camo hat yells across Ashburn Alley about the “Jew Mets fans” and the rest of the lowlifes there laugh with him that’s more than enough for me. Way to ruin a beautiful ballpark, Phillies fans.

terpz06 April 19, 2008 at 12:29 pm

my brother in law and i were having a discussion about which we hate(d) more: the braves during their run and the mets several years rivalry with them or the phillies of today. we both took the phillies on the basis of their wretched, reprehensible fanbase

kdubs April 19, 2008 at 2:34 pm

Just thinking, what’s a “phanatic” anyway? Sure, some may argue that a man with a baseball for a head is odd (love ya, Mr. Met), but at least that’s more relevant than a giant green furry anteater in a Phillies jersey and Chuck Taylors.

ryno April 19, 2008 at 2:58 pm

Stay safe! Don’t take any crap from silly philly fans or their “phanatic”.
