eh, it was bound to happen to Neise, that stat line probably has more to do with maturity then ability, telling sign will be his next start.

I guess this as good a place as any for some former Mets (turned Twins) prospects info.

Carlos Gomez is getting a trail by fire as the Twins leadoff hitter and it hasnt been going very well so far. He has a .280 OBP with only 2 BB. His 9 SB help offset his .356 SLG a little, but he really is stalling thier offense.

Kevin Mulvey is dominating the IL so far. 2 runs allowed in 17 2/3 IP over 3 starts with 20:3 K:BB (!!) and a .221 BAA

and Phil Humber isnt. 16 hits and 5 BB allowed over 12 2/3 IP in 3 non-quality starts. .296 BAA

Deolis Guerra is getting the 'kid gloves' treatement again this year as he just turned 19 this Thursday. Repeating A+ ball hasnt been a challenge as he's allowed just 1 run and a .182 BAA, But 7 BB in 15 IP are an issue, as is his lack of ability to pitch past the 5th inning. Which is mainly to limit his pitch counts.

Bostick's numbers make him appear similar to Oliver Perez. When he's throwing strikes he is hard to hit, but he can walk the park and make life tough on himself.

In Bostick's 4 starts he's had 2 BB three times, and 4 BB once. If he keeps this up he could be a useful arm later in the year or next season. He will turn 26 next spring and is out of options, so he needs to get it together this year.

In todays B-Mets game Jon Niese breazed through the first three innings then fell apart in the 4th. After a hit and a walk, Dan Murphy made an error and the inning exploded from there.

his line: 3 2/3 IP, 6 hits, 5 runs (1 ER), 1 BB, 3 K's.

Boston's Justin Masterson was masterful (yuck yuck) striking out 10 in 5 shutout innings. B-Mets down 5-1 in the 7th.

The thought of Shawn Wooten playing 3B makes be laugh and cringe for the pitchers...

Robert Paulk was recently demoted to AA,
with Nick Able moved down to St. Lucie to make room for him. I think Claudio Vargas will be added to the AAA roster soon as they are down a man right now.

St. Lucie has already used 18 different pitchers in thier first 14 games, including 2 mets on rehab. Looking like a long season for them at 2-12...

Not that it matters, but St. Lucie lost to Vero Beach, not Brevard County. Brevard County is an affiliate of the Nationals, not the Rays.

Wow, Adam Bostick had his control today! Just shows you what he can do when he does have pitch command and is throwing his fastball (especially...he can get guys to wave at his curve out of the strike zone) for strikes. Let's not forget this guy strung together 19.1 scoreless innings last season and does have flashes of brilliance. With the exception of Jordan Abruzzo, dfoesn't look like anyone had a real great night with the stick (though Tejada and Carrera got hits that counted...as did Levi Ventura).
