Phillies SS Jimmy Rollins has been placed on the 15-day disabled list due to a high ankle sprain he suffered against the Mets on April 8.
Rollins, who is on the disabled list for the first time in his career, is batting .308 with 2 HR and 6 RBI this season.

Sorry to hear. I want all the teams healthy.
Ugh. I have him on like 4 fantasy teams.
As Seinfeld would say…that’s a shame.
Looks like they won’t see Rollins til the 4th of July.
Probably right around the time Pedro comes back.
(next Philly series isn’t til July 4th)
and yes I’m thinking that Pedro isn’t back until then. Maybe even after the All Star break.
It will be the usual
” well, he hasn’t started to throw yet” then
“he’s back running but now he has to build his arm strength” then
“this is like another spring training for Pedro” then
“there’s no sense in rushing him” then
“he’s ready but we thought as a precaution that it would make sense to just hold him out until after the all star break”.
sounds like a Met move! Play short handed for 10 days, then try him fo an AB before finally DLing him. And of course, 3-4 days later he is ready but has to wait out the 15!
But, if it keeps the Phils from winning more games, I am all for it. Not like the Mets don’t have plenty of injuries too.
Boo Hoo!
Do Philies fans cheer when their own shortstops get hurt!!
and
Did anyone see that crazy guy in the white T-shirt dancing behind home plate during friday nights game???? hahaha
Oh Darn. I’m flooding my house with tears.
Off topic…I was at the game Saturday and yes, what they say about Philly fans is absolutely true. The funny thing is that alot of the schmucks talking trash has their grade school kids sitting right next to them. It was alright though, Met fans were there in full force. In regards to Rollins, I heard alot of “Well if Rollins wasnt injured…” blah blah blah.. The baseball season is a marathon not a sprint. Its a team game not decided by one player alone. If an excuse on why a team is losing is based on ONE player being out, then those who complain shouls really be bit@hing about their team depth being so poor. Oh and side note, Im not advocating violence but it was nice seeing a Philly fan getting his teeth knocked out by a guy in a Met jersey. That actually stopped the game for a bit in the bottom of the 9th.. Oh and the word for the day is: SWEEEEEEEEP…
I hate to be that guy, as you never want anybody to get hurt.
But Karma is a bitch eh?
You cheer because you thought Jose Reyes was hurt and your own Shortstop ends up on the DL. I couldn’t think of a more fitting case of karmic justice.
I’ll make sure to remember to feel bad at some point.
Glavine is also on the DL for the first time in his career. I hope he is not DEVASTATED.
