As noted yesterday, OF Moises Alou played five innings in left field going 3-for-3 with a double in his first rehab start for the Mets on Saturday.
According to the team, Alou will continue to play in minor-league rehab games this week – and could potentially rejoin the team as it returns to Shea Stadium this weekend.
…instead, i think the Mets should just put alou in Carbon Freeze, and let him hibernate until he is really, really needed…this way, there is no way he can hurt himself between now and then…

Excellent graphic
As the resident Star Wars nerd…nah, you don’t wanna put Moises in carbonite. He has a 90% chance of getting hibernation sickness, which is accompanied by almost total and complete loss of sight for the better part of a week.
Okay, I think I just showed how much of a nerd I am…
You beat me to it. Unless Alou can hit a baseball with the blast shield down … you can’t put him into carbon freeze.
uh, what the hell?
last week the guys at NYFS were stardating thier posts, now were talking ligistics of carbon freezing at metsblog…?
;)
The guy rakes so good with the bat, maybe he could hit line drives blind. As much as I like Pagan, Willie is correct, he is coming down to earth. Could not expect him to continue to hit at that pace. Question is though, who gets the ax when Alou comes up?
I would suspect Clark or at least I would hope. Endy and Pagan can play all 3 OF positions. Plus Easely and Anderson if needed can play it in a pinch. Clark as evident by his lack of playing time is essentially the last guy off the bench and should be sent down.
Han Solo managed to off Boba Fett and shoot the Sarlacc tentacle while suffering from hibernation sickness…I’m sure Moises could bat at least .320
Alou in his first game goes 3 for 3. All this guy does his hit. We need to wrap him in bubble wrap or something to keep him healthy.
I thought that was a router or a switch…until I looked further and saw Han Solo. Then I was wondering what Jo-Han had to do with Alou….then it all came together for me.
Alou needs to follow in his father’s footsteps and buy a first baseman’s glove. This would help both him and the Mets.
I would have shot for him to meet up with the team in DC. Thousands of us will be there to see the new park and it’s against a minor league team.
Can Alou play first?
even if he could willie would never ever bench Delgado
