I do agree however, that he would receive better pitches to hit in fastballs. That being said, delgado has had trouble catching up to a well-located fastball over the past year. It's not something worth fooling with, the 2 slot in my opinion is one of the most crucial spots in a batting order, something which ryan church has proven he can handle. Then worst case Delgado hits into the shift moving Reyes to 3rd or best case he goes the other way and Reyes scores. I am not saying perm. but it would be a good way to see if he has any thing left.
