Light a candle for his health??? Personally i would stay with Pagan, he has speed, a good bat and great defence. He is in a slump, it hap[pens to the bets of them. If you put someone on the bench everythime they went into a slump, it wouldn't be very good for baseball.

I agree once Alou gets back Willie should rest Beltran. Beltran is in a big slump and needs to time to get his bat back. He could fix his machanics and have some mental time for himself he could come back fresh. Then take Pagan and stick him on the bench. He can bat on either side making him a valuable bench player who gets maybe one or two starts a week. Then the outfielder is all good for the Mets. And down the rode, when it comes time to trade Delgado you have *Alou* or Pagan to trade with Delgado and get some good young talent for first base and any other wholes the mets have.

I would assume Brady Clark gets released once Alou is activated. But with Pagan still having options I would not be surprised to see him getting sent down and be able to play everyday.

Plus Omar and Willie's penchant for older players.

Are you kidding me? Is Pagan 4 years old and still needs reinforcement? What Willie said is true and bound to happen.. Pagan came down to earth from his hot start. Continue what he's doing the whole season and he'll get all the props in the world. It wasn't as if Willie set out to bash Pagan. A reporter asked him a question and Willie said "Let's wait and see" instead of saying "Yeah, he's the next HOFer."

What's really hurting the Mets right now is the #4 and #5 hitters doing SQUAT! Maybe with Alou back, Beltran will start seeing some better pitches and heat up.

Yep.. This is the perfect time for Alou to come back. Another week of hitting like this and fans will start booing Pagan!

What if you had to spend a season sitting next to the guy who dumped you? FORGETTING ANGEL PAGAN is the story of young heartthrob outfielder (Angel Pagan) who makes his way back to the team that drafted him only to find that his manager (Willie Randolph) has fallen in love with an aging rockstar (Moises Alou). Riding the pine next to his unrequited boss isn't easy, but audiences will cheer as Angel learns to live, laugh and love, and even get in a plate appearance or two! Co-starring Forest Whitaker as Luis Castillo and Aarron Heilman as the Angel of Death, FORGETTING ANGEL PAGAN is the feel-good spring hit you don't want to miss - unless you're a Mets fan!

I agree Church should be hitting second. He has been very consistent and one of our hottest bats too. Why would he need "time off" at this point?

My guess is that when Alou comes back Church will go back to #2 Delgado/Alou will flip flop in the 5/6 spot depending if there is a lefty pitching.
