My point, gomets, is that this team is horribly inconsistent. As mentioned earlier, that's not how a team should play if they expect to contend.

When we loose the division by one game, like 2007, this game will be the one. I still think that 2006 was just a lucky year and that 2005, 2007 and 2008 so far, are what we can expect from this team. Unless some changes are made. Beltran and Delgado would not scare a little leque team and if our pitchers cant hold off a last place team like the 250 Nats, what can we hope for? But, I am very happy with the team, and it's still early. lets get it together and win tonight :}

Mmm. Once I saw Heilman coming in, then giving up the grandslam (I don't even remember who he gave it up to, Felipe Lopez was it?) I knew it was over. Turned it off, think I took a nap and woke up to watch Lost.

Duaner is the new 8th inning guy and boy am I so happy about that. I want to beat Heilman up, seriously.

I still can't get the Casanova play, ball hit almost 400 feet and he stumbles to 1st base. I'm REALLY going to miss B.Schen.

I think some of these Mets might be good enough to get called up to the big leagues soon!

Is there anyone who didn't see that grand slam coming? The Mets had none all last year and already give up 3 in April? As Darling said, Heilman is either tipping his pitches, or the whole league is sitting on his changeup.

I personally don't think Willie needs to be fired. Who do you want to replace him with? Dallas Green? Lee Mazilli? I think he's still learning the job and just needs to be a better manager. Why does he refuse to use the wheel play and squeeze play? He needs to change his demeanor like Tom Coughlin did and loosen up the team. I think their problems right now are all mental and they are feeling the pressure and not executing, especially heilman, beltran and reyes. delgado is lost but there is nothing that can be done. he's not being cut in the middle of the season. david wright is awesome at 3rd but too many throws in the dirt. delgado isnt that bad at picking them out.

geez, sounds like you would rather watch a losing team and have no expectations than expect to win 95 games. you are the idiot!

Agreed. I'm getting tired of Ollie and his ADHD on the mound. I don't care how great his stuff is when he's on; when he's not (which is more often the case), he just can't get it together to save his life.

I guess he's setting himself up to be a perfect $cott Bora$-represented pitcher in the mode of Hampton, Brown, Pavano, Zito etc. At this point, any team that signs him to more than a two year deal next year is crazy (or better have a foolproof bullpen with at least two long men).
