Niese only threw 137 IP last year, and 133 the year before that. He's going to have to start increasing those totals somehow...

in Bosticks case it sure looks like he should have. He threw 88 pitches and wasnt PH for. He's gone 7 and 7 1/3 already this year, so I wouldnt think too much of it. It was a blowout afterall.

The pitchers who followed him hadnt pitched in 2,3, and 4 days so they probably needed the work. They need to be developed as well...

I dont know what Niese's pitch count was, but they were playing with the DH so it was probably just to curb his use. He's only 21, yada yada, typical crap... He went 6 earlier this year with 2 hits and 1 walk, which tells me they just arent going to let him go more than 6 this year.

They are 12-9 and in third place, 3 games out of first. tough luck division so far with Oklahoma and Albuquerque off to hot starts as well.

from what I know, they really like his talent and potential...only problem is, the Mets have both Carp and Evans ahead of them...both of which talented enough...maybe a position move would be best for him?

Maybe this is where it starts...

"LHP Adam Bostick was terrific, surrendering just one run on two hits and three walks in six innings"

"LHP Jon Niese was terrific, tossing six innings of shutout baseball"

six innings...six innings...how can we expect them to go 7, 8, 9 (!) innings for the Mets if they don't learn to do it in the minors? I know (I KNOW!) you don't want overuse young pitchers. But still. Couldn't those guys have gone one more inning?

Yea, he definitely needs some more seasoning. Perhaps extended spring training action in St. Lucie for Carp?
