He has never been a productive hitter. He'd be passable if he was a middle infielder, but he should never be considered as a starting corner outfielder for a team that aspires to the playoffs. I think (I don't have the numbers in front of me) that Chavez has been the better hitter. Look at Pagan’s statisitics every year from his first year in the minors thru last year with the Cubs.
