whether or not pagan should be sharing time is debatable. whether he should be sharing time with endy is not.

angel pagan is young and still growing into the big leagues. that said, he is clearly a better hitter than endy who is as good as he's ever going to be, and CLEARLY and OVERWHELMINGLY better against righties. but platooning him and only starting him against lefties is going to make him seem worse than he actually is.

actually, and oddly, endy is a better hitter (by OPS) against lefties than righties, and better against lefties than the switch-hitter pagan. so go figure.

endy is better on defense but not enough that he should be taking many starts away from pagan.

don't get me wrong, i love endy, but he is punchless at the plate.

pagan isn't better. he has done zero in his career. endy isn't a star, but has performed in tough spots including the playoffs. endy is great in the field.

i like pagan, but he is a 4th outfielder like endy without the defense. pagan's numbers didn't take a hit because he is playing less. he is playing less because he's an okay player who should share time not start consistently.

At this point, just release Alou and DUque and stop the drama.

Well, maybe keep them since you are paying them, but please, do not expect to ever see them again on the field (and certainly don't plan around it!).

At this point, they should look for a better spare OF with some pop. Back I guess to the guy that can also play 1B.

So, I hope they don't trade one of the few decent prospects (not Neise for ex.), which leaves them with a FA (any left?) or DFA, or a minor trade for someone rotting on a bench.

I would do the Heilmann for someone deal though!

So, once Schneider is back, they can demore the 3rd C, so who do they replace him with? Time for Evans maybe to get a look?

I really don't think F Mart could be close to ready, and if they aren't going to give thim the everyday job for an extended period, don't bother.

Just remember what the mets got back for the "X" man. Don't get me wrong I liked and still do like Nady a lot, but we did get oliver perez. Given how everything has played out I'd rather have "O" than "X" at this point. But maybe thats just me. Whether you like that move or not is irrelevant right now, there should be no trade made for anyone at this point. Yes alou is hurt, but Pagan and Church are playing just fine, and we do have Endy, Anderson, and Eisley who can all play the outfield, so Nady will see little time out there. As for a 1b replacement, we need to give Carlos a little bit more time, he'll come back a little. If two months from now we're in the middle of the pack and Carlos is still dragging tail then and only then do you pull the trigger. Not a second before.

People sure do know how to overreact? I went to the game yesterday and everyone was booing Heilman and Delgado Today, they love Delgado and he's supposed to come out to a curtain call because he hits two homeruns, and had he popped out then what? Yeah, welcome to New York. The fans are fickle. Fans want consistency out of their players, how about consistency out of their fans? I never booed Kaz Matsui, so I believe as long as you're trying out there you shouldn't be booed, no matter how bad you play.

endy is an absolute joke at the plate.

i love the guy but let's be honest. he should never start, especially since pagan is better from the left anyway.

and of course pagan's numbers are going to take a hit when he loses his starts against righties.
