Health: Schneider likely Free Today
By Matthew Cerrone - Apr 28, 2008 7:28 am

Mets GM Omar Minaya told reporters yesterday that Brian Schneider is likely to be released from the hospital today.

the buzz from shea is that schneider will spend the first day or two at home, then re-join the team mid-week

frankly, he can’t get back soon enough…Oh Casanova has actually been a lot better than i ever expected, but the pitching staff reacts better with schneider behind the plate

    Good news everyone!

If Casanova didn’t have the day he had yesterday this news would be even sweeter than it is now, but don’t look for me to complain.

Hopefully Schneider has better pitch selections than Casanova, and the pitchers can go farther in games. It’s pitiful to see pitcher give up 2 or less runs and barely make a full 6 innings.

am i the only one who doesn’t like schneider’s helmet?

No idea, I’m not in the showers with the team…

what an odd thing to have an opinion about. :P

As long as he is back for Pelfrey’s next start.

How long has he been out? Hopefully it isnt more than a day or two longer that he is back in there.

Any longer and they may think they need to send him up to Bingy for some AB’s…

Brian Schneider is a very good catcher for a few reasons:
    1-He is good defensivly
2-Good with handling pitchers and their pitches
3-Has a nice pop in his bat

If it wasn’t for the injuries he is having, he would be excellent.

  6. Zoe says:

Very glad he doesn’t have to go on the DL, but has there been any coverage anywhere how the infection got so bad in the first place? Don’t the trainers have antibiotic ointment? Did Brian just not tell them about it?
