Valentin hasn't been around the team for the past year - who knows - maybe it's part of the reason Reyes hasn't been doing as well as he once did. Getting Reyes "right" may be the most important thing this team needs to do for the future of this organization. They need to do whatever it takes to do that, including bringing back Rick Downs as his personal hitting coach if possible. And I can't let Valentin's contribution to the team in 2006 be over-looked. He pretty much came out of nowhere to take over the 2B job and hit around 18 HR's in the 8th spot in less than a full season. Not bad. He got off to a HORRENDOUS start and had a really weak finish. I liked having him for that season because overall he was able to really contribute. The Mets need to keep him in the mix though.
