Pat’s is good but inconsistent, Geno’s sucks. They’re both for tourists to some extent.

Tony Luke’s has them both beat.

My favorite part is the Met fan with no shirt calling the Phillie fans “no class”

I wear a met cap hear everywhere here in the ATL and I get no grief.
At least the fans in the City of Brotherly love are passionate. Yes i am calling out Braves fans.

There is a difference between passion and drunken beligerence:

      1) Passion is going to the game to cheer hard for your team. Beligerence is going to a game for the sole purpose of heckling other fans and their players.

      2) Passion is a little ribbing of the opposing team’s fans. Beligerence is starting fights with the opposing team’s fans.

      3) Passion is showing up to the stadium on a rainy night, hoping your team gets to play. Beligerence is showing up on a rainy night and hoping there is a rain delay so you can drink more and be more of an a-hole.

In case you were wondering, I went to the Sunday night game in Philly. Lots of beligerence around me. Those fans need to stay at the Linc (home of the 0 time world champs).

      • Raditz says:

Well put. You have a point. I just miss excitement at the ball park here in the ATL. Which involves being the evil Met fan.

        • Ollie Ollie Oxen Free says:

Haha…I wasn’t trying to be a jerk with that response either and completely disregard what you said. I much prefer the Mets-Braves rivalry to Mets-Phillies. Braves fans (at least the ones in New York) tend to be on the classier side as a whole. Phillies fans I get the feeling are looking for a fight on their way to the baseball game.

They are pretty much classless, have had nothing to cheer for, for how many years now? They need to get a grip and realize it’s baseball. I hate the Phillies because of their fans. I dislike the Braves because they had so many marginal players over the years that killed us. I’m talking the Mark DeRosa, Matt Diaz, Michael Tucker, Brian Jordan, Marcus Giles, and Ryan Langerhans of the world.

          That’s a rivalry.

        • Raditz says:

I hate the Braves more than the Phils for the same reason. Also, I agree they have alot of class down here in the south for the most part, but this is the same city that 3 years ago couldn’t sell out a playoff game. Where is the passion.

At least you both agreed on Pat’s…you shoulda got them with whiz though, it’s like night and day…just the thought of an extra whiz without has my mouth watering

  4. itsmetsforme says:

this was amusing. but would have been more so if ted had a stash. where is the stash?

  5. Prismo says:

Great job! I’ve been waiting for this since the tailgate. I thought there was no way you’d put the shirtless guy in the video after his drunken (yet hilarious) comments.

Also, for people not at the tailgate…the Mets bus got through. :)

(And if anyone saw this from in the ballpark, my friend and I hung up blue/orange K’s for Ollie in the right field upper deck)

  6. Andrew says:

As a Philly resident: Pat’s is good, Geno’s sucks, and Jim’s and Tony Luke’s have both beat.

  7. Zoe says:

The video doesn’t show how queasy you guys felt after choking them suckers down ;-)

  8. markepa2 says:

Who cares. The chick in the green dress, Philly fan or not, was cute.

  9. kowalski69 says:

found a hair in my girlfriends steak from geno’s.
ill never go back to philly again

  10. K5nyc says:

Hilarious! Great stuff Matt. Anymore Metsblog parties in the city anytime soon?

  11. Jova1931 says:

Part one was great, but I think if I went to Philly I’d honestly get into a fight with a fan, so I hope if I end up going that doesn’t happen.
