The 33 strikeouts in 119 AB with only 6 walks (and a .281 OBP) is pretty clear evidence he's pressing and probably overmatched. He's also 19, though, and in AA. At this point, it's all about staying healthy, and putting some miles on. Minor league numbers, while more valuable than Spring Training numbers, rarely tell the whole story. That said, I'd love to start seeing more walks and fewer Ks. I've seen him play firsthand and man is he exciting. Raw, but exciting.

Thanks for the reply darkstar. I hope he starts to hit too and that the pressure of being a premiere prospect doesn't affect him negatively.

he hasn't put up a full season of really good numbers, no, last year he was 18 in AA and got injured, this year, he's 19 and starting off kind of slow, so we'll see. It's too early to say much considering how young he still is for the league he's in, but he does have to start really hitting at some point.

Glad to see Ramon Castro was playing. An earlier post had reported him being helped off the field while limping.....

At some point F-Mart has to start putting up some #'s doesn't he to justify this top prospect status of his? Not trying to get on the kid, and maybe I'm wrong on this but has he yet put up really good #'s?

The recent change in lineup for the Zephers, moving Argenis Reyes and Jesus Feliciano to the top two spots has sparked them. Moving AH to 9th seems to spark him as well, for a day...

With the addition of Pascucci to the AAA roster, Caleb Stewart was moved to AA where he struggled last year. He was likely only on the AAA roster because Pagan wasnt...

Josh Petersen was demoted to St. Lucie despite hitting .310 at AA. I guess when Carp and Evans are hitting .400, .310 doesnt cut it. Petersen has been the regular 3B since the demotion, so its likely to get him more AB's at a clogged position.
