News: Schneider available as Back-Up
By Matthew Cerrone - May 2, 2008 2:46 pm

Earlier today, Brian Schneider told WFAN that he will not start tonight in Arizona, but he is available as a back-up catcher if needed.

in other words, expect the Mets to eventually activate Moises Alou and demote Gustavo Molina

Enough with playing short handed, put Schneider on the DL if he cant start and play 9 innings. The last thing we need is for him to have one PH appearance and then go on the DL.

If he cant start tonight, going on the DL will only cost him 5 more days. Might as well swap him for Alou, then lose Molina when they come back east.

The mets typically don’t use catchers as PH’ers anyway…
This isn’t an extreme short handing….hopefully hes ok for Pelf’s start tomorrow

speaking of losing players, what happened to Brady Clark?

First he retired, then he changed his mind and accepted an assignment to New Orleans.
