Some people think (heck, everyone knows) he's a mental midget when it comes to strategy (a season and a half to figure out a double-switch!) but gave him the benefit of the doubt as a good clubhouse guy. The good clubhouse guy notion evaporated along with the Mets in The Collapse. Some people think Willie, as leader, should have been held, I dunno, accountable for The Collapse. Some people think one series win is hardly enough to absolve Willie. Plenty of .500 teams win plenty of series. Those same people said nothing about Willie today after the win until people like you came on ranting and raving after one admittedly nice gift of a win (thanks, Connor Jackson) about "where are the Willie haters now?" But sure. I am convinced after one gift of a win in the desert in early May: Willie is a genius tactician. Willie is a master motivator.
