I was a huge Glavine fan and supporter until he didn't show up for the most important game of the 2007 season. Then adding insult to injury he tried to downplay it trying to remind everyone of all his successful outings. Definitely boo worthy.....

What about taking these two mental cases (O & Pelf) and package 'em for a decent starting pitcher. I'm sure we'll have takers thinking all they might need is a change of scenery. To be honest I hate watching Big Pelf gagging on thaTHAT MOUTH PIECE THEN LICKING HIS WHOLE HAND AFTER GIVING UP RUNS AND HITS LIKE THEY WERE GOING OUT OF STLYE.

Willie could start by not referring to a 5 ER in 5 IP start as "pretty good" and "keeping us in the game". He could say "Ollie needs to pitch better", but he refuses to call out players in public, even gently. At some point, his message to players has gotten lost. As I said, either change the way the message is delivered, or change the messenger.

Umm, isn't the setup if the LCS started today? Today Pedro has barely made it back to tossing off a mound.

Agree with the write above that we need to ship pelfrey to the minors. its so obvious this guy is not a ML pitcher yet.

At this point in the season, does it really matter if we don't have a defined 3rd starter. Just a silly article. The main thing is the 4 guys after Johna need to step up, pitch better and deeper into games.

Figgy's whole bag is as an innings eater. Remember all the stories before his first start, about pitching 280 IP last year, and all the eight innings, complete games, complete EXTRA INNING games, etc?

This guy is a workhorse. He's competing for the eventual #5 spot. He doesn't have to have a 0.25 ERA. Unless he is completely unraveled, lets see what he can do.

Another thing, from OP's start last night. After 6IP he was at 95 pitches. Castillo came up and got on base. Why not keep OP in? He can bunt him over, no? He could have at least started the 7th.
