I want to be able to light up a smoke in the Upper Deck open ramp at Shea without being treated like a child molester while a bunch of alcoholic bandwagoneers are dumping their $8 beers on visiting fans and booing Santana. I want to see CitiField collapse and a new 55,000-seat stadium that has nothing to do with a dead NYC organization---the Dodgers. I'd like to see Tom Seaver, Nolan Ryan, Amos Otis, and Ken Singleton not be traded, but it's a bit too late for that, but it was fun having an entire section to myself. I also want Mr. Met to manage a game and have Willie shoot T-shirts during the 7th-inning stretch.

As a recovering lawyer living with a girlfriend who is a practicing attorney....I can tell you (1) we prefer vodka or good wine and (2) most firms ban drinking during the work day, even during lunch (the three martini lunch is long gone) as it is easy to get slapped with malpractice.

The Mets, on the other hand, drive all of us to drink.... regardless of profession.

He has said he doesn't generally rad all the comments, just the first few because that's where corrections of his posts (grammar/spelling/stats) usually appear.

Plus, he asked for email responses in this post.

What do you call it when we leave the bases loaded with zero outs and can NOT score? BAD BASEBALL? A man on third with 1 out and Delgado hits into a DP? Or A man on third with 2 outs and Beltran Strikes out? We need productive outs and we need to score runs. It dont matter who is on the mound, if, we dont score we cant win. Im sure they want to win, but, they dont. It seems lik ethey find a way to loose more than win. Even today with a 5 run lead I was worried. I was happy until we had 10 runs then I felt that even Heilman and Sosa could not blow that game.

Well we did just that. We won 5 in a row and then lost 3 and won and lost 2 and won 1 that will NOT get us anyplace. We need to win 6 loose 1 win 4 loose 2 win 5 loose 1 thats what we need. This 2 steps up and one back is CRAP.

i just want the team to play good baseball. it just frustrates me to see them get the leadoff man on and not be able to move him over to second. or get men on 2nd w/no outs or 3rd w/one out and not be able to drive that run in. no one can bunt, some pitchers are afraid to throw strikes, relief pitchers come in and immediately walk the leadoff hitter, when men are on hitters are swinging for the fences instead of taking what's given to them, etc...it's just all bad baseball!

and it was the same last yr. that's why we throw away so many games over the course of the yr and in the end they all count. if the team played good fundamentally sound baseball and lost, at least i could feel comfortable that they gave it their all and we weren't the better team. but the way we play, most of the time i feel like we're the better team(in talent), but we can't scratch together enough good luck to win because we create our own luck and bad baseball = bad luck.

is it willie's fault? maybe. answers? i don't know at this point, but i'm ready for a change.

This team has so much talent all I want to see is this team playing hard every night and being in the hunt for a division title at the end of the year. Now I think they have the best team in the NL East and should win the division but I really just want to see them compete for the division crown because as a young Mets fan all I can remember besides 2000 and 2006 was terrible teams way out of it in September. LETS GO METS!!!!

i agree on the marathon point.

But realize this, over the most recent marathon (meaning the past 162 games played ending with last night), this team has a .500 record.

Parcells said you are what your record is. Though I believe that for the most part...I refuse to think it applies to this team, which has far too much talent. But maybe I am in denial.

And that is where people are rightfully frustrated. Expectations were set not by us, but by this organization. And it is failing.
