Nice segment, Matt. Very cool that you get to do this. Makes me have hope that the powers that be are paying attention to us.

      bloggermetrics in favor of sabermetrics?

if the powers that be need to consult a blog to determine the proper course for this team, we should be back to 1962 in no time

  2. KingWright says:

Cerrone is the sexiest man on television.

  3. enloew says:

These should really be Mets Blog Two Minutes, you don’t get nearly enough time to get a full point accross.

  4. gipper91375 says:

Nicely done, and I agree with enloew, SNY should give you longer segments, maybe even a weekly show of your own.

That’d be sick – we should see if Matt can beat me in a home run derby

      • Slappy McSingleton says:

or even a ‘get the ball out of the infield’ contest.. my money is on Cerrone!!!!!!!!!!

Nice bit, smooth performance, poor content — sounded like the Mets’ marketing department. Basically, Matt acted as if the fans were nuts to be upset with the performance of the Mets at this point in the season. That’s all well and good, and it’s his opinion, and I respect it, but in my view — and the view of the majority of the readers, it seems (not all, but a majority) — it’s fiddling while Rome burns. The “what do you want? Just look at the standings” attitude was thoroughly and completely discredited last year, much like the Mets. We now believe our eyes. The Mets added Santana, Church and Schneider, which was great, but in the eyes of most fans, they need to put up or shut up. We need to see a comfortable stretch of good, solid baseball. We need to see a few comebacks. We need strings of two out hits from people other than Raul Casanova and John Maine. There are just too many bad signs. I don’t think it’s fair to characterize what people want to see as “emotion” or that the Mets “care.” What I saw (and agree with) is that the fans want to see resiliency, smart play, and, most of all, crispness.

very well said “too many uniforms”, that sums up how i feel about the team so far.
