Angel Pagan will have an MRI today on his left shoulder, which he jammed in a seat after flipping head over feet into the stands while trying to catch a pop up in foul ground in the first inning of yesterday’s game.
…pagan stayed in the game for two more innings, but told reporters that he was in a bit of pain…the best part of the play was afterwards, when he watched the replay on the center field scoreboard and laughed out loud after seeing it…the LA fans even cheered for him after the
replay…imagine that…
Pagan, regarding the injury, after the game:
“Everything happened really quickly. My shoulder got stuck in one of the seats. All my weight went down and my shoulder got pulled back…I really have faith that it’s nothing bad, nothing cracked…It felt like it dislocated and came back again…I couldn’t feel my arm, so I was kind of scared…You do anything to stay in the game, but you can’t be Rambo.”
…you know, if the Mets really want to promote both Ramon Castro and Matt Wise for this weekend, they could put pagan on the disabled list, buying themselves a bit more time…

which shoulder????
I believe it was his left.
left, glove arm.
He was flexing and holding it for much of the game while he was still in there.
Hats off to Pagan – It was refreshing to see someone in a Met uniform look like he truly gave a damn about winning or losing. Hope he’s not out too long.
Didn’t he break in before he got a bead on the ball?
It was a great play and I thought the same thing, it was nice to see a little fire in their play. It was also very classy of the Dodgers fans to applaude the effort and when Maine left in the 9th they gave him a standing O.
I noticed that. I can understand cheering Pagan’s play. A play like that deserves to be cheered especially when a player gives himself up like that and gets injured in the process. However, I would never cheer an opposing pitcher for shutting down my team’s offense.
Phew!!! And all this time I thought he was 60 years old…just like Rambo.
Great job by Pagan. Luckily, we have another of the exact same player as him in Endy. Take it easy, Angel.
Congrats to Carlos Gomez for hitting for the cycle last night. Hitting .282 w/13 SB so far. Our scrappy LFs are always so fun to root for! Melky, what? That trade is only going to keep looking “better” to the outside world (rather than Met fans).
yea, props to Speedy Gomez. Finished it off in proper Gomez style with an IF single. And he ran faster on his HR ‘trot’ than most guys do when they are stretching a double…
you should google “carlos gomez “poet of minneapolis”"
yea, the worst part of him being traded is that we dont get to hear what he says on a daily basis, which is much more entertaining than his .300 OBP…
The pitcher throw inside
and I take it
I try to do my game like that
I see the third base
and first base stay a little bit back
I do a bunt
Haha!!!
Meanwhile, Livan pitched his 44th career CG. And Duque mulled over his boot.
I have no doubt Wright, Church and Reyes in addition to Endy would do the same thing if they had to.
Wright did that…in Seattle, 2005….Unlike Capt. Jetes, Wright and Pagan actually caught the ball in the stands, in stead of catching it on the line, and then diving into the stands after the play.
Pagan’s the man. I say throw him on the DL. Let him rest that shoulder. But he clearly has made a statement that he belongs here. So he is safe.
Let start rolling off some wins boys come on.
I’m feeling good.
Lets Go Mets.
Awesome catch and effort by Pagan. Also classy move by the dodger fans. The savages that are phillies fans could learn from them.
