I wonder…if there’s no rainout and they play 4-5 innings of today’s game, they’re going to need a sixth starter. Interesting that Tony Armas didn’t start yesterday. I know all reports have pointed to it being Adam Bostick due to the Mets being reluctant to change the 40-man roster (Bostick’s there, Armas isn’t), but perhaps they’re going to let the decision go right down to the wire?

The Mets should just cancel tonight’s game. It is their option to cancel it before the game starts and it will help their roster needs for the coming week, so why not?

You think a team can just cancel a ballgame at their convenience? It stopped raining hours ago and the forecast calls for clear weather tonight and tomorrow.

They can always say that the outfield is too wet and is dangerous because it isn’t draining right. I mean, it is not like it is 70 degrees and sunny outside. Although, I haven’t been outside in a few hours, I guess it could be for all I know.

        • gameball says:

I guess they could say that — but if they called off a 7:00 game when it stopped raining at 3:00, they’d have some serious ’splainin to do. I’d be pretty peeved if I had tix and they did it.

        • mackey_sassers_arm says:

Yeah, but I would also be pissed if I had tix to friday and sat there for 2 hours before it was cancelled.

    Toby Stoner…great name.

    • Necciai27 says:

Better…it’s not Toby Stoner, it’s “Tobi Stoner.” With an “i.” And if he were to make the Major Leagues, he would be only the second Mets player (Ron Gardenhire is the first) to be born in Germany.
