We always here things about Veterans not wanting to be encouraged/managed in the dugout. We hear Willie say things like my guys know what they have to do. They know how to turn it on..(Not quoting)

it seems like this team doesn't know how to make any sort of a comeback. The second they got down big, they stopped working counts and swung at some really bad pitches.

Is there ever a time that the manager or a teammate will refocus the club.. It seems like in most dugouts(not just the mets) that players and managers rarely do things like that. How did baseball get this way? It really defies logic. I was just thinking that in every other team sport I can think of, you have constant interaction between player and coaches. You have adjustments being made and a constant push for guys to play at there best.

I know its a completely different situation but in football and basketball, there is rarely a second that coaches and players aren't interacting. IMO the Mets need to more of this. Tonight the mets tried to hit the 6 run home run. When bloops bleeders and singles are exactly what we needed..

Well, Cerrone will talk about how its not Willie pitching or hitting. And how its not time to panic yet.

The apologists will blame Omar, or the booing, or the weather, or the earth's rotation, or some other assinine rationale...

Willie will talk about turning the page, and grinding it out, and the little bumps in the road, and how its early, etc...

i'm not calm when watching it, the Mets losing is frustrating, no matter what, but I don't let that seep into everything else, including my blog comments, its called controlling your emotions, being rational, realizing (and I know fans like you hate this) its a long season. But whatever, continue on as you were, I'm done.

Here they come. Matt Wise is going to take the Mets to the promised land. A lot of people on this board don't know much about baseball, which is surprising to say the least.

ah, figure out if Armas or C. Vargas is most likely to have a run of success and get them up too. Unless Bostick does well and they ride that horse for a while.

I'm with you, stickguy. And I'm not abandoning Figgy yet, at least for the long man role. He has had major control issues, but he stays in the game. The bats are going. Sometimes a pitcher stinks. Can't win 'em all.
