Second point:

"Wright might need a day off just to recoup and clear his brain?"

I don't think so. Whether he sits for a day or not, he's still going to be David Wright. Like everyone, he has his rough spots, and he works his way out of them. He knows when he struggles, and sitting him isn't going to bring him out of it any faster than letting him play through it.

"Can’t we just agree that:

A) fans have been giving Wright an easier time than the Carlos tandem"

No. I don't agree with that.

What we have here is... Failure to communicate.

You're addressing the hyperbole which is not the point here. I'm addressing something that is actually just not true. Delgado has been booed, although that has all but stopped. Beltran? Haven't heard him getting any rough treatment at all. Maybe it comes across differently on TV, but at Shea, Beltran has been received warmly. As warm as he could be received while he struggled anyway.

Now, if you are going to say that Beltran isn't greeted as warmly as Wright, my answer to that would have to be "who is?" Wright is the face of this team.

But I take issue with the idea that Beltran has been a victim of the boo-birds. I'm there. It's false.

Um, yes, we are all familiar with hyperbole. I am sure the force of everyone's boos has never actually ejected somebody from a stadium. I don't have a PhD in physics, but I get it -- it's just not possible.

(I know, that wasn't your point. But hey, you weren't focusing on the other guy's point either.)

Can't we just agree that:

A) fans have been giving Wright an easier time than the Carlos tandem, and

B) Wright might need a day off just to recoup and clear his brain? Oh, and

C) This is fun! :)

Last I checked Wright was 3rd in the league in RBI's. Are we really going to start complaining about Wright now/

DW has been spotty, but his overall numbers are OK. 31 RBIs at least, and an OBP still sitting around .400 ain't too shabby.

He just looks like he might be pressing a bit. A day off and the Carlos' picking up some of the slack might take care of that.

if David Wright stayed hot all year long like some fans seemingly expect him to, he'd hit .400 and have 50 HRs and 150 RBI's. Even really good players have down times.

I've been to all but three games, and Delgado has not really been booed since the curtain call day. I have not heard Beltran booed once this year. Remember, he's not posting that a few people scattered around Shea are booing because they boo everything. He said "out of the stadium". That is just not true.

Now *you* are exaggerating.

Besides, the point being made, that Wright could probably use a day or two off, is valid, and one that Randolph made himself.
