Also, it was more than a promo. They read those every game. The point was that after reading the promo, they commented PERSONALLY about visiting the site, and enjoying reading it. BIG difference.

That’s interesting that the Dodgers use the same broadcast for both radio and television. Does any other team do the same?

I’ll grant you that does exonerate Scully to some extent, but still he needs to draw breath sometimes – for my sake. Maybe if he didn’t work alone? I don’t know because I didn’t like him with Joe Garagiola on NBC.

And, yes, there are many broadcast teams that are simply awful. As I said, I listen more than watch and listening to Atlanta or Florida’s announcers is painful. San Diego and Arizona are equally bad. Don’t much care for Houston’s long-serving announcer either (can’t remember his name). I only once listened to the Nationals’ guys and thought they were all right.

The talkative-ness of Scully is related tothe fact that he is simulcast on radio. Need to provide more for radio listeners than typical TV chatter.

He’s way better than most (some are unwatchable like the Nats, Fish, Braves, D-bags), though I’ll take the SNY booth over anyone.

Far from the worst, indeed. But, we’ve been spoiled on radio over the years from the greatest of all time, Bob Murphy, to Gary and Howie…we’ve been very lucky as far as the radio booth.

We’ve had some clunkers in the TV booth (I’m looking at you, Fran Healy and Tom Seaver), but now have the best TV booth in baseball.

Seriously, tho..he was one of the 3 announcers that taught me how baseball works and gave me a lifelong love of the Mets. I will always admire and respect him.

Scully is the best for a fluid play by play as action takes place, but his tangents in between pitches are insufferable.

even better was his call on a walkoff inside the park homerun last year against the Giants.

the FAN compared his call to Steiner’s for the Giants..it was not pretty

Fonzi13 = Loser.

Cerrone is living every Met fans dream with the access he gets to the team. The guy simply worked hard to get as far as he has. Everybody keeps whining about the SNY deal, but I don’t see any difference in the way Cerrone has posted info and his opinions since I have been reading this site, and that was before the deal. Everything is always on an even keel because that’s just how Cerrone is.

Don’t let the door hit you on the way out, “Fonz”. I guarantee you that you will not be missed.

Keith gets screwed because the nincompoop HOF voters consider 1B a “power position” and he only hit 162 HRs. Never mind that he revolutionized the position and was a nonparalleled leader.

Keith should be in the Hall. So should Gil.
