The Phillies are emotional. The Marlins are emotional. They’re in 1st and 2nd place.

It’s impossible to really make a strong argument that that’s why they’re in first place, but I’ve played on a lot of teams in my life (not professionally, of course), and it’s only the fiery teams that overachieve. The sum can be greater than the parts.

Besides, passionate underdogs are always more fun to watch.

ESPECIALLY because it says at the top that he was asked about clubhouse attitude, to which he says they had a great road trip. In that context, it has nothing to do with the record.

Well, you have made about 25% of the comments on this particular post.

But, you assume he meant that it was a “great” road trip because they went 3-3, which is where the problem lies.

I will say that I didn’t listen to the interview, so I can’t speak to context, but unless Schneider was asked “How disappointing was the road trip, going 3-3?” and he said that it wasn’t disappointing, it was great, to assume he meant that .500 ball was great is putting words in his mouth.

But what really counts is the record. 3-3 is not great. And as I’m sure you know, momentum in baseball means nothing. The offense could very easily go silent in the drop of a hat. Bronson Arroyo proved that.

You know, I think you’re reading too much into it. He didn’t say the won-loss was great. Maybe they bonded over the trip. Maybe they started to pick it up. Just maybe things happened that YOU don’t know anything about. So calm the hell down.

It was great because the games they won they won by a lot, and the offense, which had previously been terrible, woke up. The losses were, with the exception of Pelfrey’s start, close losses, and They’ve been able to sustain that offensive momentum despite two days off (including the rainout).

3-3 is the very DEFINITION of “not great”

i don’t see how anyone can argue otherwise

i don’t think anyone should be angry or upset about a 3-3 trip, but there’s a pretty wide gap between that and calling it “great”

i mean unless the boys went out to some killer strip clubs in LA and that’s what he’s talking about

that i would be fine with
