Toasty Joe wants you to meet the new Mets manager, Giuseppe Franco.

…well played…seriously, with the amount of ad time this gets on SNY, i’m shocked giuseppe’s mug isn’t part of the network’s logo…

John Maine is the Mets stopper, proclaims Brooklyn Met Fan.

Dave over at Mets Lifers says Carlos Delgado should try and bunt more often due to his declining ability to hit for power.

Metsradamus recaps the latest Mets pitchers to be sent home from “Rick Peterson’s Next Top Pitcher.”

Seriously if you have not read that on toasty joe you got to its hillarious.

  2. Gasface77 says:

“Luis Castillo, infielder: When I go like this with my bat [wiggles it], it feels like I could actually hit the ball out of the infield. I really notice a tremendous difference. I’m really happy with it.”

Too funny…the whole thing is hysterical.

  3. ToastyJoe says:

Many thanks for the linkage, Mike. I had a few chuckles composing that one.

    • dave27 says:

      Outstanding work as always

      • ToastyJoe says:

Thanks Dave, although I know you’re just saying that because we know each other in real life.

By the way, does anyone else find it strange that we’re supposed to take hair care advice from someone who looks like he has a greasy black porcupine strapped to his head?

        • EncinoMets says:

I find it hilarious that every testimonial had a seriously thinning guy saying how great his hair now was, except for some young dude who had a full head of hair (albeit shaved short). He’s a young dude, of course he should have a full head of hair.

And Guiseepe had the worst haircut of all!!
Does he seriously run a salon?

    • Mike Nichols says:

No problem. It’s classic stuff. Good job!

  4. K-Hern says:

I am a Giuseppe Franco fan!

  5. jamie says:

he should do it more just because no one’s there!

  6. K-Hern says:

that is some funny $h!t Toasty….. I could watch that commercial
100 times in a row, and still find something funny

  7. telljimmyrollins says:

I know it pays the bills but come on SNY can we please get some new sponsors?????? I swear, if I see this Giuseppe Franco commercial one more time I am going to lose my hair!!!!

    • AlreadyMissShea says:

I think it’s just time for a new Guiseppe Franco commercial. It’s time to shake things up a little bit. Maybe have him choke a few people outside the salon.

    • dave27 says:

      I think that’s the point…

  8. dave27 says:

Consider the Mets SNY ad revenue distribution:

    Ads for Giuseppe Franco: 30%

    Ads featuring Derek Jeter: 30%

Ads with people missing body parts asking me to feel sorry for them for their 25-year smoking habits: 30%

    Other: 10%

…I will take Giuseppe Franco. He’s probably a better hitter than Julio was.

      feeeeeeel the LOOOOOOVE

    • rustysribs says:

All I can say is thank God for DVR’s so I can fast forward through all those unbelievably annoying commercials. I guess the strategy is to just try and brainwash you throughout the course of the season. How many people can actually be buying Guiseppe’s hair stuff to pay for all those ads every inning of every game?

  9. AlreadyMissShea says:

“Look, stop saying you’re only a few games outta first place, stop denying that your team looks bad, and do somethin’ about it. You can be on the road to an NL pennant right now by getting on the Giuseppe Franco program.”

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
    Awesome!

  10. Hahahaha oh my god Guiseppe!!!!!! My friend showed me that commerical the other day, I almost died. Fire Willie, Fire Guiseppee.

  11. metsfan119 says:

If the Mets ever got to the World Series, they gotta fly this guy over and get him to throw out the first pitch.

    • cyclone says:

LMAO My buddy said they need to show this commercial on the Diamond Vision at Shea, Giussepe would probably get the biggest roar from the crowd…

  12. wallybackman'sfire says:

So this is who Giuseppe Franco is….. For someone like me who lives outside the NY region I’m always wondering what all these posts about Giuseppe on Metsblog are all about. I guess I should be thankful the Giuseppe Franco business empire has yet to enter the rest of the country.

Seriously though, in the above picture he kind of looks like that actor Jonathan Silverman…..

      • wallybackman'sfire says:

Thanks for the link Toasty (I think). OK, I now know the phenomenon of Giuseppe. I do think this guy might be Jonathan Silverman’s fraternal twin. If this commercial runs as often as my fellow Metsbloggers say, then I am glad I live where I do.

  13. Church says:

if you watch the clip that says Steve talks to Giuseppe, that ones hilarious.

    • AlreadyMissShea says:

Is that the one where he gets slapped at the beginning and then he pops the guy in the head with the microphone while he talks about how he got started in the hair business?

Or is it the one where the guys call him on speakerphone?

Both are great and worth watching, but probably not good for when the kiddies are in the room. :)

And it’s funny that Guiseppe is based in Beverly Hills, but he’s become famous in New York. Maybe he needs to expand. He would probably do some huge business in NJ actually.

  14. mfr187 says:

Giuseppe should really be the mets manager at this point… Willie appears brain dead at this point putting Heilman in in a tie game and letting him give up four runs. Giuseppe or Gary Busey would know better than that

  15. be_dot says:

You shuold see this Guiseppe guy on Fox Soccer Channel. ALL DAY EVERYDAY.
