Why is this on this site? It has nothing to do with baseball in any way and will only lead to really dumb comments about how lousy the people in Philly are. I am sure that at every game at Shea there are many many cases of underage drinking.

    • K-Hern says:

why on this site?….. because it brings a smile to my face

    • dave27 says:

A better question would be why are you commenting on it? This site is very well set up for readers to skip the threads they are not interested in and focus on the threads they are.

  2. bootlegga24 says:

People in philly are really dumb and lousy

  3. davethenjmetsfan says:

Hey, you need to be good and drunk to actually enjoy watching the Phils.

  4. Metsnumba57 says:

Philly fans are so obnoxious and retarded

  5. AlreadyMissShea says:

When I was underage, I couldn’t have afforded to get drunk at Shea. Not if I was actually buying THEIR beer at TODAY’S prices anyway.

$48 bucks a six pack! OUCH!

    • jamie says:

      so I see you don’t tip…

      jk

      • AlreadyMissShea says:

LOL. I’m a good tipper. If I’m drinking that day, I do it before I get there. :)

        • jamie says:

I try to do it before I get there too. but beer at the park is irresistable…so cold…so beery…mmm, god I want one RIGHT NOW!

          …sorry about that. ahem. LGM!

        • Mr. Bananagrabber says:

Agreed. The Pine is great before games. I like Bud Light and all, but prefer a Blue Moon or three to get me started.

    • nrmax88 says:

Thats why when you are underage you get to the game early and pre-game it. Jeeez. :)

  6. anthony.velli says:

the Phanatic gets more mentions on this site than omar minaya.

  7. Rawjah Clemens Is In Jawgies Bawx says:

    Leave the kids alone…

  8. AlreadyMissShea says:

    Phire the Phanatic!

    • PacmanJones says:

Fire Willie! Come by the Marina parking lot during Saturday home games and chill with the Fire Willie! Crew.

      • PacmanJones says:

We’re in the process of buying a big white van/small bus, to be graphically enhanced with Fire Willie logos, you won’t be able to miss us pregamming at the Marina parking lot.

        • AlreadyMissShea says:

I’m all for people wanting a change. When you start spending money on it though… that’s just out of control.

        • PacmanJones says:

Eh, we’re just going to buy a beater van, nothing more than $500, split 5 ways, will be well worth it and very entertaining. We’re not doing it solely for the fire willie movement, after Willie gets fired we’ll primer it up and repaint it with something else… “Thank You Omar?” Citi opening day it will read “2008 World Champions,” etc. etc.

        • AlreadyMissShea says:

Buy an ice cream truck. I’ll be your best customer. Use the profits to change the graphics around.

        • PacmanJones says:

What about an ice cream / beer truck? Although it’d probably be pretty hard to attain a traveling liqour license.

        • Slob says:

You should have a mascot. The Fire Willie. A giant flaming willie.

        • Mr. Bananagrabber says:

What you should do is buy an old ambulance and call it “Party Emergency.” Show up and sell sixers when you get a Party Emergency call.

No wait, I’m going to do that.

  9. Ryn05 says:

Nothing wrong with a little drinking.

  10. DerangedHermit says:

Well. what are the numbers at Shea? I’d imagine they’re around the same for a crowd of 40,000.

  11. AlreadyMissShea says:

Next time the Mets are on the road and the Phillies are home, Mr. Met should go down there and blindside the Phanatic in his dressing room, throw on the costume, and raise hell all over CBP.

Mr. Met needs to get down there and do a modern day Enrico Pallazzo on their candy asses.

  12. shea_guevara says:

Isn’t it more newsworthy when a Philly fan doesn’t wind up in jail?

  13. PacmanJones says:

Wait, 91 minors on a Tuesday night? I know it’s summer and all, but don’t they have summer jobs? Shea doesn’t bring in 91 drinking minors on the weekends!!!

  14. Deadpanwalking says:

Drinking is just the beginning. One need only glance at the Philly Phanatic to see he’s basically designed to emulate only the harshest of psychodelic acid trips. Those kids will be jumping from the cheap seats thinking they can fly before long. I only hope they make peace with their pagan devil gods before they totally phreak out.

  15. jws366 says:

My good from friend college (who claims to be a HUGE Phillies fan) told me that he has never been to a Phils game sober in his entire life…

He also told me that the Mets stole “Ya Gotta Believe” from the phillies…apparently it was their logo during last year’s “miracle comeback”…

    • dave27 says:

Has he ever heard of Tug McGraw? The pre-Phillies version?

Can I use his time machine, so I can go back to 1973 and use stuff from 2007? Didn’t Biff Tannen make alot of money this way?

      • ravi3 says:

Another well known quote came to be that very same season, referring to that very same topic:

It Ain’t Over Till It’s Over
        -Mets Manager Yogi Berra, 1973

    • AlreadyMissShea says:

He also told me that the Mets stole “BOOOOOOOOOOO!” from the phillies.

      Fixed!

    • dave27 says:

Was this really their slogan? There are few if any slogans in sports more readily associated with a franchise than this one is with the Mets. That is utterly and completely pathetic.

      • BKphan says:

If I am not mistaken, it was used by Tug McGraw in 1973 (Mets) and 1980 (Phillies).

  16. WozzyBear says:

Wait, only 91? They missed a bunch!

  17. Hahahaha. I love hearing things like that. I’m sure it happens more than we know at other ballparks. Cracks me up because its at the bandbox, lol.

  18. rogasm says:

Who didn’t get busted by some sort of authority figure when they were underage?

  19. dykstraw says:

kids under 21 drink! shocking development! only in philadelphia!

    • no, but its nice to knock them on it.

      • dykstraw says:

the security and cops at shea just don’t arrest people. especially if they are beating the crap out of phillies fans. they just laugh and occasionally throw them out.

it’s a weak thing to make fun of them for. i’d rather stick to “the phillie phanatic is the mute, retarded child of gonzo and snuffleupagas.”

  20. HamalamaMets says:

I’ve read that Citizens Bank Park is rarely filled with older, or middle aged Phillies fans. Majority of the crowd is young 18-25, it has become a hot spot to go for that group age. Plus they have some colleges around there (Villavova; Univ. of Philly etc), so I can see why.

    • SadClownGoodMets says:

Univ. of Penn, Drexel, Nova, Temple, St. Joes, La Salle, USP, Philly U …. big college town. I attribute that to why CBP is so vulgar - young and stupid 18-21 year-olds.

  21. pbelli01 says:

I got kicked out of Citizen’s Bank Park 3 years ago for sneaking in my own Natty Light cans. We lasted about an inning drinking them, then security gave us the boot.

    That city SUCKS

  22. Slob says:

Being a Phillie fan should be a felony.
