Prior to tonight’s game, Mets GM Omar Minaya told reporters that Pedro Martinez tossed 55 pitches, while fielding his position, against live batters, in a simulated game in St. Lucie today.

According to Minaya, Martinez’s will throw an extended spring training game or another simulated game before starting his Minor League rehab.

Yay?

I almost wish pitching was our problem at this point (Heilman aside). At least we’d have some guys waiting in the wings. There isn’t any help on the way for this disgusting offense.

In all fairness, the offense has been solid-to-strong for the last 1-1.5 weeks. Not tonight, necessarily, it’s not they’re built to be the 2007 Yankees.

Actually, longer than that — if you go back to 4/23 they look like they are (eyeballing this) scoring an average of maybe ~6 runs per game. That’s very good.

Great, so Willie and the Mets bullpen can blow Pedro’s leads in around a month.

“Here we go Pedro, Here we go!”

Seriously, why do you people follow this team? It’s very apparent you hate the Mets. I don’t watch Deal or No Deal because I hate that show. Why do you watch this show that you hate?

Love the Mets, hate the team

hey listen, leave him alone.. he doesn’t own the company, he doesn’t know anything about it.. He just knows that this is the greatest team ever..

Sweet…I can’t wait to see Pedro give us 6 solid, followed by Heilman coming in and blowing it.

Unfortunately Pedro gave up 6 runs and walked 4 in 2 2/3 simulated innings. But he did get a hit and drove in a simulated run.
