That’s what I said, although I’m not Italian. It’s more than white, Paul was one of us. Even if he really grew up in Zona, he was very representative of the fan base. I don’t identify in the same way with Wagner, Maine, etc, any more than I would with Jose or Delgado.

There’s nothing wrong with rooting for your guy.

the only reason why you guys love loduca so much is cause you’re white and/or italian and ’cause he gave you somebody to root for (other than maine and wright) that wasn’t part of ‘los mets’. it’s not cause he hustled, was a great player, or plays by the rules..so don’t give us that bs. you’d be better off rooting for joe smith or aaron heilman…at least they’re still on the team

Figueroa originally brought up the “wins” factor by calling out the Nats for being in last place. My point is that Figueroa can call out the Nats all he wants, but he’s not going to be on the team anymore because he can’t throw strikes because he sucks.

Well, now you don’t have either.

All you people know LoDuca by now is his name in the Mitchell report? He loved playing for the Mets, busted his but for the team, and was crushed that the team didn’t invite him back.

Even if losing him was the right choice, he was nothing but true to the franchise and the fanbase.

People now compare him to Bonds? Clueless. Go root for whatever journeyman next puts on the uniform, instead of rooting for the player.

I’ll take Paulie, who I think represents the fanbase in his own form, over any plastic country bible bumping hick anyday.
