In his only career start versus the Mets on June 17, 2007, Wang earned a win striking out 10.

Agreed. I know Endy is great on D but Marlon is such a better bat and I really wish he got more starts.
Let’s hope the Mets break out of their “score 7 runs on Saturday, put up two hits on Sunday” routine. Yanks are struggling. Need to strike while the iron is hot!
Or get over their “never win on Sunday night on ESPN against the Yankees” routine.

if you mean not having your best stuff, falling behind early, then still keeping your team in it for over 7 innings in an eventual victory, ill take that “disappointing” start like Santana’s any day.
he’s obviously more concerned with stats then wins, which is probably some sort of testament to the fantasy mindset that has taken over. As a Met fan, there’s nothing more important then a Met win. Bottom line.
i really think he’s just being sarcastic in an effort to get attention, which sadly we are all giving him, myself included.

you put your B lineup too keep your A players fresh because its a full season…not cause you feel like jerking off the third game of a series. Willie’s not perfect, but use some valid criticism, and find me a single NL manager who doesn’t do that.
You’ve got to be kidding me that Santana was disappointing. He pitched to the score and we won. The back to back 6 pitch innings when Pettite was struggling was key. Do you expect him to pitch a shutout everytime?

they’re taking the tarp off. Want them to win, but want more to see a continuation of yesterday - do whatever you have to to get a lead, and tack on some runs later.
A lot of people say that the Yankee series means nothing. In the standings, it means absolutely nothing since it doesn’t affect other team’s standings in the NL….but I think the Yankees series was just what this team needed to jump-start the last 75% of the season.
Can’t say the comments on Willie are fair or unfair…all i know is that the people that seem to blame Willie for all the faults of the current team….I guarantee they would not credit Willie if it got turned around.
I’m pretty much done talking about the manager at this point. All I will say to that is that I think it works both ways. There are some people who will not blame Willie for anything, ever. Even when the Mets broadcasters have confimed that he was wrong on something.
I really don’t care about the manager anymore. The truth is usually somewhere in the middle anyway. And my guess is that even if he finishes the season, the Wilpons are going to go with something new for Citi Field. But again, for the last time, I don’t care. From now on, for me anyway, it’s all about the team. Unless Willie is grabbing a bat or a glove tonight, I’m not interested.
Already have the sound turned down and music on the satellite radio turned up. I’m in no mood for Miller and Morgan tonight.
