I guess the "if you have the lead" part is what's really eating up the Mets fans.

As for the Red Sox fans that show up, for the most part the word I would use is not LOUD, but OBNOXIOUS.

I don't actually live in Atlanta -- I live about 4 hours away in Tennessee, so I don't get to go to as many games as I would like, but I've never been to one with the stadium "half-empty", or even close. The crowd is involved with the game; the atmosphere is not "lame". Granted, we don't have mind-numbing screeching music playing constantly and we hardly ever boo our own players -- I can't remember it happening anyway. I suppose if you consider being friendly and sort of, well, polite, as being lame, yeah, maybe we are lame.

Also, thank you Wozzy... I really think I will enjoy the games -- probably a lot more than you.

I love exciting games, and I'm itching to see the Mets win a comeback in a "battle of the bullpens," but all of that said, by preference for today is 15-0.

Torre had some interesting comments about playing in ATL for bad teams. You can probably find them if you look. Not too kind.

Better with a healthy rotation of santana, maine, perez, martinez, and pelfrey.

And real dangerous in the playoffs if they can take the division. Really dangerous.

Lets Go Mets!

I also agree. Glavine gave his heart to the Mets for 5 years. He pitched through some terrible starts and learned how to be effective. I will always remember his start against the Cardinals in the NLCS when he shut them down so effectively, leading Pujols to say "he wasn't that good." Ha! That game stands out just as vividly as does hiw last miserable start.

Glavine was great with the fans and with kids especially, giving autographs easily and even on days that he started. His behavior in this regard was much more fan friendly than any other member of the Mets through the years he was with them. We should beware riding down every former Met who we encounter anyway. Not a good showing for us as fans I think. I was at the game when Darryl Strawberry came back the first time as a Dodger. I never heard such booing! The he hit a homer and we all cheered, because we suddenly saw that we really loved him and and his ability to drive a ball. I know he was home-grown, and Glavine is suspect because he went back to the hated Braves. But there was a lot of shared respect and love between mets fans and Glavine; we shouldn't forget that.
