    Praise the lord

Is this guy a trooper or what? If we can get him sooner rather than later, more power. He is definitely the team’s MVP up to this point. However, if he is suffering from PCS then there is no need to rush him.

    • sddbaker says:

I hope he is okay. Braves fan here, but you never want to see anyone get hurt.

I’ve always thought Church was a great player; I remember thinking last year that I wished the Braves would try to get him from the Nationals. I was really surprised at how upset so many Mets fans were about the trade — I thought they robbed Washington.

Thanks – I think it’s always welcome when opposing teams fans come on and provide actual insight and commentary from outside our Mets fan vacuum, rather than just talk mindless trash.

He is definitely a favorite of mine!

  4. DjDeF says:

We need to get out there and vote for Churcie in All star voting. Nobody else gets a vote aside from Wagner who we cannot vote for anyway.

    • mrose says:

      ummmm
you can vote for all positions and obviously Johan, Beltran, Wright and Reyes will make it
But i’m all for voting Church, uin fact, I already did

      • DjDeF says:

I am saying I will only vote for Church. The other Mets do not deserve to be there.

        Pitchers are not voted on.

      • mackey_sassers_arm says:

You can’t vote for pitchers man… Beltran, Wright, and Reyes aren’t even close to deserving a shot and I didn’t vote for any of them. Reyes might be the t4th best Shortstop in the division and Chipper is hitting .409 at 3B.

      • sddbaker says:

If Wright is elected over Chipper Jones, we will all know how little respect Mets fans have for the game.

        • gipper82475 says:

DWright doesn’t belong there this year, certainly not over Larry. And, often it’s dumb kid fans who see video game boxes, not Mets fans who make those sorts of votes.

That said, if your team actually got some fans in the seats, it wouldn’t be a problem. Of course, if you cannot sell out playoff games, I guess regular season games are a stretch?

        • getupkids026 says:

come on, do you really think the mets fans are the only ones voting for wright? the all-star game is a popularity contest and wright is one of the most popular players in baseball. i’m not slighting chipper in anyway and i think he deserves the selection over wright, but don’t blame met fans for their lack of “respect”.

        • theperfectgame says:

I think Wright absolutely deserves to be in the All-Star game this year. But no way in hell should he be starting over Chipper. But seriously, after Chipper, who would you take over Wright as a backup? Mark Reynolds? Aramis Ramirez? Ryan Zimmerman? Maybe I’m leaving someone out, but if you look at Wright’s stats (plus the outstanding defense he proves, minus an errant throw now and then) he’s gotta be your second choice (after Chipper, who is the clear cut starter and quite possibly the first half second choice NL MVP so far, after Lance Berkman).

Jeff Wilpon following Church’s lead just held a press conference and told reporters, “I never approved ‘Your Season has Come’ OR ‘Your Post Season has Come’, we expect to be back in the playoffs again though this year.”

  6. 7train says:

    Hallelujah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  7. backinbusiness says:

Wow! This seems like a real turning point for the Mets! ;)

    Welcome back, Ryan.

  8. Biscuit says:

    Bad@ss!

  9. HoJoWright says:

and on gameday 44 god said, “let the mets turn the corner…”

I hope you’re right God. LETS GO METS!! Plenty of time

  10. ryno says:

Can’t wait to get you back, Church! You’re the MVP this year.

  11. Gasface77 says:

To all you demon mets players…you know who you are…

THE POWER OF RYAN COMPELS YOU! THE POWER OF RYAN COMPELS YOU!

  12. Wow. He’s amazing. MVP. Come back soon!!

  13. gipper82475 says:

Great to hear about Church. I hope he isn’t pushing it. Head injuries are no joke.

  14. I don’t believe that for one second. If you watch the video of it, after hitting his head on the knee, he fell right to the ground with his head contorted sort of under his body, and never tried to brace himself for a fall like people who are conscious were. “They” say he wasn’t knocked out and had no concussion, and I’m no doctor, but I don’t believe it.

  15. catcher4life says:

ummm… I’m pretty sure I a quote on mets.com from Ryan Church saying that he did think he went unconsious for a second right before he smacked his head against the ground. I may be wrong, but either way, I love Ryan Church and I can’t wait to see him help the NL win the All Star game.

  16. RPsJacket says:

according to howie, he tried to talk his way into the linup.

Funny, he didn’t hop on a plane back to NY for “evaluation”
