I remember my brother brought his new gilfriend to the game and during the ten minute standing ovation, I was glassy eyed and teary and had a slight lip quiver. He never looked at video. Never analyzed anything. He just went up there and raked. You can't teach that. I'm sure he understands the other side of it - and if he wanted to be a hitting coach, I'm sure he'd be a great one. But if you just look at his approach to hitting, it wouldn't translate into a good hitting coach. Piazza would actually be a terrible hitting coach – because he was such a natural.
