And the best part of the night? Aaron Heilman's 2 scoreless innings, preserving his roster spot so he can come in and blow another game in a big spot.

The Mets are almost twice as close to the Nationals as they are the Marlins.

The last 15 batters of this game were retired in a row.

What is everyone waiting for? This team sucks. This team is not good. This team is relying on the utterly abysmal Mike Pelfrey every 5th day. Even the Yankees were able to put their tails between their legs and send down Ian Kennedy.

This team is utterly unwatchable. If today is the unofficial start of summer, then thanks to the Mets for ruining my summer and the last season at Shea. It's impossible to feel any nostalgia with this bunch of clowns mailing it in every night.

Hey Leon,

I sat in field box section 204 B and had seats 1 & 2 from 1971 through 1989. Go look where they are.

I've been there PAL.

In Performance improvement you change processes and not people unless absolutely necessary. To build error free processes you need a safe environment. Think about it, there is a tremendous amount of pressure on these guys. They are trying, too much and too hard and not having any fun. How can you win when you're too busy thinking and not "just letting the game come to them". Can you imagine being Jose Reyes, being told that if you have a bad day, the team will lose? that the team will only win if he does well? That's a lot of pressure for a young guy, especially in New york. Classic performance anxiety - the whole team is suffering. A lot of the stupid errors are from double-guessing and self-doubt. I think the Mets need a good Sports psychologist and maybe a retreat (lol)!

I wouldn't want to be in their shoes for anything.

You tell him Gina. He's not suppose to sit down with Reyes to discuss his AB, thats what the hitting coach is for. Maybe he asked Omar for another reliever but Omar decided there was no one qualified that could do better. There are two trainers on staff that are suppose to make sure each player does the proper amount of stretching before each game. Managerial decisions are all on him though thats true.

The decision point has come and passed. The solution to alter this team's 2008 fate appeared in October 2007.

There are 2 remedies to a traumatic collapse like the 2007 Mets: Major Change or Time.

Since no change was made, the WIlpons/Omar chose Time as the only remedy by default. And that's the remedy we are living through right now.

There is no magic potion b/c, last October, The Wilpons chose to take the BLUE pill.

I'm not disagreeing that Willie is a problem, just that he's not the only problem. I just don't think him changing his attitude or even changing managers is the magic answer.
