yes he's up so if they used him then schneider would not be used, if they pinch hit schneider than Casanova would not be used so with church gone you can't use 2 people in that spot (1 to pinch hit for evans and 1 to be a defensive replacement) because that only leaves Delgado and the 3rd catcher left on the bench. And willie won't use the 3rd catcher incase the starter gets hurt.

Reyes SS > Tatis LF > Wright 3B > Beltran CF > Church RF > Easley 1B > Castro C > Castillo 2B > Perez

If Church can get back I think we could get by with this line up for a bit. Against lefties anyway. You know if we face a righty that Delgodo is going to play. The Castro/Schnieder platoon should be explored more as well. Schneider can handle the pitchers but Castro has shown he can do that also and he is much better facing the lefties than Brian.

Who would you have pinch hit there? If you pinch hit Chavez than you have to double switch another position. If you pinch hit Schneider then you have to double switch with Chavez to play lf. Either way you have to use 2 players from your bench and then your left with a shorter bench. When you have Church home and you can't use your last catcher thats 2 players short. You have to let Evans hit there and then you double switch him out so your only using 1 player from the bench incase the game goes into extras or you need a big pinch hit at bat in the 8th inning.

Any tension among a small group of pros like that is going to be personal, not political, as it were. Also, there's a language barrier.

Hold on. A bunch of know-nothing fans call for Delgado's head for weeks, Willie finally sits him, the team wins, and we're throwing laurels at Willie? Give me a break. Giving Willie credit for this is like giving a perfect attendance award to a kid who misses the first two months. Additionally, the sample size of one, with Santana pitching and a lefty on the mound doesn't do much for me.

No one blames him for each and every loss, individually. It's the 77-83 body of work (oops, sorry, 78) + one historic collapse that people cite.

Everyone is available for the right price . . . though the Mets really don't have much to offer. Maybe they'd like a nice, FREE Delgado for their bench?

Oh, sorry, this is the Other Evil Empire, so money is no object. . . .
