If you've read my posts on this all day from our earlier conversation, you would understand that my point isn't about Church batting 2nd...its about putting someone there who can promote a 1st-to-3rd style of baseball. b/c that is a style that Castillo does not provide. But if it needs to be Church, so be it. Because that has proven to be more successful than Castillo has in his tenure here. Blame whoever the phuk you want for that...but the fact is this team plays a better offensive game without Castillo batting 2nd.

But you chose to be stubburn and refuse to go back to our previous discussion on another thread. So now I have to lay it all out for you again and deal with you ridiculous argument tactics. It's tiring and I simply don't care anymore.

So congrats, you win the war of attrition.

the lineup is stronger without Castillo in it PERIOD. And it certainly hasn't proven to be stronger over the past 100 games with him batting 2nd as you suggest.

I would much rather see a second basemen who is not 1-dimensional at the plate in this lineup. And if that means playing Easily and batting him 8th, where he may hit a gap or drive one over the fence every once in a while, excellent. I

If Castillo is just a role player that is no big deal (as you say), than don't put him in an important role between Reyes and Wright.

Again, it's common sense that Church is a better hitter than Castillo no matter where they hit.
Fact is that Church produces the same out of the 2 and 5 spots while Castillo is much more effective out of the 2 spot.

because of what I see with Castillo in the 2 spot, and contrasting that with what I see without him in the 2 spot. It's on my TV. Not on baseballreference.com.

Look, Church is a great hitter but its still about getting the best out of the lineup you have top to bottom. You want to use Castillo in the 8 spot, he has been terrible there this year.
.189 and .302 BA and OBP.
From the 2 spot he is
.280 and .374.
Church's numbers fromt the 5 and 2 spot are almost identical. He is just a really good hitter no matter where you put him. He scores and produces runs in both spots.
Castillo does not.
Thus the lineup is stronger with Castillo in the 2 spot.
