Delgado clearly has not gotten his act together yet and this sends him a message that he is not untouchable. I firmly believe he will be right back in there tomorrow, and hopefully he'll be back with something to prove. I don't quite get all the Delgado hate on here.....to our knowledge, he hasn't pissed and moaned about being pushed down to 7th in the order or even now, being given days off. He seems to go out of his way to help younger players on the bench, or make a trip over to the mound to try to get the pitcher back on track,,,,,,,,I've seem him described as a "clubhouse cancer" and I'm not quite sure where thats coming from. Hes clearly a lot less productive right now......so lets hope this little sit down helps him out a bit.........if anyone thinks Easley...long term....even beats out the shell of his former self that Delgado has become is crazy. I like this…..

Thank god. And good for Willie. Hopefully this is one of those "shake-ups" they need. By the way, has Delgado's career at the plate with the Mets reminded anyone else of Robin Ventura? Very good first season, stabilizes the lineup, provides protection for the star player and helps the team to its best season in a while, then has a good postseason. Second season production goes WAY down, but its blamed on injuries and everyone keeps waiting for the production to go back up.
