is it coincidence that the Mets are now 12-5 against left handed starters with or without Delgado in the lineup? Maybe it had nothing to do with Delgado playing or not playing, the Mets can hit left handed pitching. They are 13-21 against right handers. So if they lose tonight its not because Delgado was in the game its the rest of the team struggles against right handed starters! Tatis is not hitting 25+ hr's and driving in 80 RBI's, hes a journeyman bench player not an everyday player, the mets need Delgado to pick it up to win this year, Tatis is not good enough to carry this team when Wright and Beltran struggle!!

I know to most it makes sense to sit Delgado vs lefties - but looking at his splits - I think the most glaring one is day vs night.
Day - 6hr 12rbi .341obp .568slg .270ba
Night - 2hr 13rbi .268obp .262!!! slg .178 ba

Anyone think in his old age Delgado may simply be having trouble seeing the ball at night?

He pinch hit and was out of the game, how do you know willie didn't tell him to go to the club house or go home to get a good nights rest because he would be playing tonight? Was the rest of the team there, I believe Perez and Wagner both left the dugout as well but your not bashing them.

What happens if Delgado plays tonight and hits 2 hr's and goes 2-3 with a walk but the Mets still lose, would it still be because Delgado played? Tatis was 0-4 with 2 strike outs before that at bat if Easley wins the game there no one would be saying Tatis should be taking Delgado's place.
