Note: Schoeneweis on WFAN at 12:15 pm
By Matthew Cerrone - May 30, 2008 11:30 am

Scott Schoeneweis will be a guest today at 12:15 during WFAN’s mid-day show.

Schoeneweis has not allowed a run 20 of his 23 appearances this season.

i’m happy for schoeneweis…this is a tough town, as it should be…we expect a lot…he struggled, the fans booed, but he took it on, shook it off, and is now pitching well…so, good for him

no doubt, he’s been terrific despite facing as many righties as he has. It’d be great if his usage would better reflect his splits, but it’s better than last year.

most of the time it does reflect that, but you can’t exclusively use a guy to ONLY pitch to lefties, he’s going to have to face righties once in a while, just not in really close big situations, which I don’t think has really happened.

a 50/50 usage split isn’t an accurate reflection of his talents. I know you need a guy to get an occasional righty out, but I’d like it to be just that: an occasional righty. But as I said, he’s been terrific.

Everybody look at the Show! (In your best White Goodman from Dodgeball impersonation).

Isn’t it funny how things change. Besides Wagner, I have the most confidence in Show coming out of the bullpen. I feel like he has not gotten any credit for the way he has pitched this year.

  4. nomoredelgado says:

SHOWTIME! and finally that term is not sarcastic.

  5. metsfanatic says:

I think Willie has to start using him more like he uses Feliciano. He seems to still have more confidence in Feliciano than Show and I think that maybe they have switched in their effectiveness.

Show has maintained his sense of humor throughout. Kudos to him.

The crowd gave Schowie quite the applause when he came off the mound last night. I hope the players can realize that when you get booed in NY that it is really nothing personal. New Yorkers are going to let you know via the boo when you’re not getting the job done, just as they will let you know with wild applause when you are.

Great job Schowie turning yourself around and also not complaining about your hamstring last year. In the post game he was quite modest in talking about success because he realizes it can end quickly.
